Beef

New Rosedale Feed Mill carries a diverse selection of beef mineral premixes to target the nutrient requirements of beef cattle throughout different stages of production. The right choice of mineral depends on the type of feed the cattle are being fed.

Beef Mineral Premixes

3:1 Beef Mineral – Formulated for cattle with very little to no alfalfa in their diet. This mineral is ideal when rations contain a large amount of cereal or corn-based feed—whether through silage, greenfeed, extended grazing, or corn grazing—along with grass hay. It is also highly suited for herds being fed grains or grain byproducts.

2:1 Beef Mineral – Formulated for cattle with less than 50% alfalfa in their diet. This mineral is ideal when rations consist of grasses, grass/alfalfa mixed hay, or cereal greenfeed and silages.

1:1 Beef Mineral – Formulated for cattle with more than 50% alfalfa in their diet. This mineral is ideal when rations consist of mainly hay or forage, and where no cereals or grains are being fed.

Breeder Mineral – These high-performance premixes are elevated in vitamins and trace minerals to optimize fertility and milk production, utilizing chelated trace minerals for increased bioavailability and absorption. While traditionally fed leading up to breeding, this is a breeding animal mineral, not a breeding season mineral. To maximize herd health and reproductive success, year-round feeding is highly recommended. It is safe and highly beneficial to be fed during all production stages, especially when the total ration has high antagonist pressure from sulphur, molybdenum, and/or iron.

The breeder premixes are also ideal as a calving mineral. When fed year-round—or started at least three months prior to calving—it meets the rapidly increasing nutrient demands of the mother cow in late gestation and significantly improves colostrum quality, leading to overall higher immune function in the newborn calf.

Summer Range Mineral – Formulated for cattle grazing fresh pasture during early to mid-gestation. While our standard 2:1 and Breeder minerals are salt-free, this premix features a 2:1 calcium-to-phosphorus ratio with salt already included. This convenient, ready-to-feed option is designed to match the specific intake requirements of summer pastures.

Salt-Included Mineral – These premium mineral premixes are formulated with added salt, which do not require additional salt to be further mixed. For producers seeking precise control over herd nutrition, we also offer standalone Cobalt Iodized Salt, TM (Trace Mineral) Salt, and TM Hi Boot Salt to allow for custom blending and adjustments.

Feeding & Intake Management – The majority of New Rosedale Beef Mineral Premixes are formulated for a target intake of 100 grams (3 to 4 ounces) per head per day. Herd consumption can be regulated by blending with salt to increase or decrease daily intake.
